Why Call It Depth of Photography?

For those of you who don't know, there's something on the camera called depth of field. The depth of field is what creates a big landscape picture, with everything in focus, and a close-up portrait that is blurred in the background. I figured that "Depth of Photography" was an appropriate name, because the purpose of this blog was to go into the depth of photography, and it was a play on words.
